About us · Est. 1984

Kolhapur’s first
Panchakarma centre.

Dr. Sunil B. Patil opened it at Laxmipuri in 1984. Today Dr. Pranav Patil and Dr. Sharayu Patil run it with the same care, the same oils, and a second generation’s training.

Our story

From one treatment room to a second generation.

The clinic has never moved from 1449 C Ward, Laxmipuri. What has changed is who sits at the desk, and what they bring to it.

The same door: consultation in clinic and online, Panchakarma courses, the Tejas beauty spa and a shop of in-house preparations.

A Nadi Vaidya who took Kolhapur’s Ayurveda to the world.

A popular name in Kolhapur and a veteran of Ayurveda, he read the pulse before anything else and did not prescribe until he understood the person. Patients came from across India and abroad, many for his work on liver disorders and the reversal of viral hepatitis. Leading the Maharshi movement in the early 1990s, he took Ayurveda to Europe and North America, travelled to more than twenty countries, and taught hundreds of students from Japan, Serbia, Denmark, Malaysia and the Netherlands.

He gave as much to Kolhapur as to Ayurveda. In 1990 he founded Vanoushadhi Vidyapeeth to teach medicinal plants and panchakarma locally and to publish Vanoushadhi, an annual Diwali magazine. An orator, actor and journalist, he wrote ten books on Ayurveda and health, and served as Vice Chairman of Chetana Vikas Mandir, a school for children with intellectual disabilities. For this work he received an honorary doctorate and the Maharshi Award, and served as President of the Maharashtra Council of Indian Medicine and of NIMA, Maharashtra State.

The second generation

The doctors carrying it forward.

Both grew up around Ayurveda, both chose it, and both trained to MD in Panchakarma. They consult in clinic and online.

Dr. Pranav S. Patil

MD (Panchakarma) · Leads the Panchakarma unit

A fitness enthusiast who chose Ayurveda, and made sports rehabilitation his own field within it.

At the clinic he treats digestive complaints, male infertility, joint and rheumatic conditions, sports injuries, and anxiety and stress. Certified in Marma therapy, Ayurvedic sports rehabilitation and aromatherapy, he works as much on prevention as on recovery. His MD thesis was on Panchakarma for anxiety and stress, and he prepares most of the clinic’s medicines himself, to the founder’s recipes.

Dr. Sharayu P. Patil

MD (Panchakarma), SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi · Consulting physician

A second-generation vaidya herself, who chose Ayurveda over MBBS with the aptitude for both.

She looks after women’s health at the clinic: female fertility, Beejsanskar before conception and Garbhasanskar through pregnancy, along with hair and skin care and neurological conditions. A certified yoga instructor (Bihar School of Yoga) and Garbhasanskar coach, she runs therapeutic and prenatal yoga batches. She also leads Sharayu Herbals, her family’s thirty-year-old skin and hair care brand, and consults in English, Marathi, Hindi, Kannada and French.
